Wines included in this set:
NV Pierre Moncuit, Hugues de Coulmet, Blanc de Blancs, Champagne, France
100% Chardonnay
The Moncuit family has been rooted in Champagne’s renowned Côte des Blancs for generations, with a history as grape growers in the village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger dating back to the late 19th century. In the early 1950s, Pierre Moncuit began estate bottling his Champagnes, setting the stage for a legacy of quality and precision. Since 1977, the estate has been under the stewardship of Pierre’s daughter, Nicole Moncuit, who oversees viticulture and winemaking, and her brother Yves Moncuit, who manages the business operations.
Moncuit Champagnes, including their non-vintage offerings, are always produced from a single vintage—a unique practice that allows the wines to reflect the distinct characteristics of their growing season. The Hugues de Coulmet Blanc de Blancs Brut NV is crafted exclusively from Chardonnay grown in the Sézanne village. With a commitment to freshness and purity, the wines undergo full malolactic fermentation in stainless steel and are aged 24–36 months sur lattes before release.
The Hugues de Coulmet Blanc de Blancs offers a stunning expression of Sézanne Chardonnay, with a racy, mineral-laden palate and youthful vibrancy. Aromas of green apple, citrus blossom, and chalky minerality leap from the glass, followed by flavors of lemon curd, fresh pear, and a hint of almond. The fine mousse enhances the wine’s crisp acidity, leading to a long, refreshing finish with a touch of saline complexity.
NV Waris-Larmandier, Racines de Trois, Brut, Champagne, France
60% Chardonnay Côte des Blancs Grand Cru , 30% Pinot Noir Montagne de Reims Premier Cru, 10% Pinot Meunier Côte des Bar
Waris-Larmandier is a Champagne house deeply rooted in tradition, innovation, and sustainability. Founded in 1989 by 5th-generation grower Marie-Hélène Larmandier and her husband Vincent Waris, the estate is now helmed by their three children—Jean-Philippe, Pierre-Louis, and Inès. This next generation has brought renewed energy and focus, including Jean-Philippe’s commitment to biodynamic and regenerative farming, earning the estate its Demeter certification in 2020.
The estate spans 9 hectares of old-vine vineyards across three key Champagne regions: the Côte des Blancs, Montagne de Reims, and Côte des Bar. Their flagship cuvée, Racines de Trois, honors their familial and viticultural roots. The name represents the three siblings, three grape varieties, and three terroirs that shape this unique wine. Inès adds a personal touch with her floral label designs, inspired by her mother’s vibrant flower boxes adorning the family’s home in Avize.
Waris-Larmandier’s style is terroir-driven and ultra-elegant, creating Champagnes that reflect purity, precision, and structure. Racines de Trois epitomizes their vision, blending the richness of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier with the elegance and minerality of Grand Cru Chardonnay.
Racines de Trois offers a refined and harmonious expression of three iconic Champagne terroirs. Aromas of white peach, golden apple, and acacia flower are layered with notes of almond, brioche, and a hint of fresh citrus zest. The palate is structured yet silky, with flavors of orchard fruit, chalky minerality, and delicate spice. Fine bubbles and vibrant acidity lead to a long, elegant finish that balances richness with freshness.
NV Villepin, Blanc de Noir, Brut, Champagne, France
90% Pinot Meunier, 10% Pinot Noir
Owned by Bruno de Villepin, this tiny estate holds a storied history rooted in Champagne. The family’s property, originally purchased from the Duchess of Uzès—a granddaughter of Veuve Clicquot—has been meticulously farmed since 1999. With just 5.25 acres of vineyard, Villepin focuses on reducing its environmental footprint through sustainable viticulture and a low-intervention winemaking philosophy. Since establishing his own winery in 2008, Bruno has employed parcel-specific vinification, hand-harvesting, and aging on fine lees to craft Champagnes that embody richness, complexity, and purity.
This handcrafted Blanc de Noirs, made from a careful selection of parcels, offers bold aromas of red apple, wild strawberries, and toasted hazelnuts. The palate is layered with flavors of baked cherry tart, cocoa, and a touch of spice, leading to a dry, mineral-driven finish. The fine lees aging enhances the wine’s depth and texture, making it both rich and refreshing. Only 3,000 bottles produced—making this an exclusive treat for any Champagne lover.
2014 Jose Michel, Special Club, Champagne, France
50% Pinot Meunier, 50% Chardonnay
The 2014 José Michel Special Club Champagne offers a rare opportunity to experience the marriage of Pinot Meunier’s depth and Chardonnay’s finesse, crafted by one of Champagne’s most revered small producers. With its rigorous selection process and the legacy of its ancient vines, this Special Club bottling is a collector’s treasure and an unforgettable celebration-worthy wine.
An unreal bubbly from a dynamic, small family farm in Champagne. Special Club wines are wholly unique: as part of an elite grower's group they must be the best wines from a particular member in that vintage. José Michel are known for their precise, textured wines made in the village of Moussy. Jose Michel’s Special Club, as Champagne guru Richard Juhlin notes, is alongside Krug as one of the most iconic wines that feature Pinot Meunier. In Jose Michel’s cellars, however, you can see greatness with this grape going back to the 1950s. This Champagne features the domaine's oldest vines, with the Pinot Meunier vines up to a century old and the Chardonnay vines in the 60-year range. The 2014 is fantastic, and it is not a Special Club to miss.
The Club de Viticulteurs is a group of independent Champagne producers who have come together in order to promote the high quality of their work. The José Michel Special Club was chosen by this group as an ambassador of quality and given the right to use the Special Club label and antique bottle. Making it into and staying part of the Special Club is quite rigorous and a mark of quality.
NV Jean Vesselle, Oeil de Perdrix, Champagne, France
100% Pinot Noir
This is not just a wine—it’s a living piece of Champagne history. Crafted by a small Grand Cru estate with deep roots and an artisanal spirit. Jean Vesselle’s Oeil de Perdrix is a Champagne steeped in history and tradition, crafted in the heart of Bouzy—a village celebrated for its Grand Cru vineyards and Pinot Noir excellence. The Vesselle family has been making Champagne for over 300 years, but this unique bottling has its roots in a fortuitous discovery in 1972. While renovating the cellars, Jean Vesselle uncovered a hidden cache of perfectly preserved bottles of a pale copper-hued sparkling wine. Inspired by this find, the family resurrected the tradition of l’Oeil de Perdrix, or “The Eye of the Partridge,” a style defined by its brief maceration on Pinot Noir skins.
Today, the estate is helmed by Delphine Vesselle, who took over after her father’s untimely passing in 1996. Delphine has carried on the family’s legacy with passion and precision, producing just 7,000 cases annually from two parcels of Grand Cru soils. Her efforts have earned the domaine a place among Wine & Spirits Top 100 Wineries in the World—a testament to the extraordinary quality of Jean Vesselle Champagnes.
The Oeil de Perdrix is a Champagne of captivating character and elegance. In the glass, its pale copper-pink hue hints at the delicate maceration of Pinot Noir grapes. Aromas of red currant, wild strawberry, and orange zest are interwoven with notes of toasted brioche, hazelnut, and a whisper of rose petal. On the palate, the wine is both rich and lively, with a creamy mousse that carries flavors of raspberry tart, pastry cream, and a touch of spice. The finish is long and complex, balancing power with finesse, and leaving a lingering impression of minerality and subtle savory notes.
NV Pascal Doquet, "Anthocyanes" Rosé 1er Cru Brut, Champagne, France
67% Chardonnay, 37% Pinot Noir
Pascal Doquet is a vanguard of sustainable viticulture and meticulous winemaking, celebrated for his mastery of the Côte des Blancs’ premier terroirs. With roots in Champagne dating back to the founding of his family estate, Doquet-Jeanmaire, Pascal took the helm in 1995 and established his own domaine in 2004. Farming just under 9 hectares, he cultivates old-vine parcels in legendary villages such as Vertus, Le Mont Aimé, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. His commitment to organic and biodynamic principles, combined with a deep respect for his vineyards, has cemented his reputation as one of Champagne’s most innovative grower-producers.
The “Anthocyanes" Rosé is a striking saignée rosé, crafted to highlight the pigment and intensity of Pinot Noir, blended seamlessly with the finesse of Chardonnay. This singular wine embodies Pascal’s creative approach and dedication to expressing the essence of Champagne’s terroir. It captivates with its vivid, deep salmon hue—a result of 48 hours of maceration on the Pinot Noir skins. Aromas of wild raspberry, blood orange, and red currant are layered with notes of cinnamon, clove, and a subtle hint of rose petal. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and complex, with flavors of ripe cherry, cranberry, and spiced plum balanced by the vibrant acidity and minerality of Chardonnay. A velvety texture carries through to a long, elegant finish with whispers of savory spice and chalky precision. Its bold character, vivid color, and impeccable balance make it an unforgettable rosé Champagne—perfect for celebrations, thoughtful gifts, or moments of indulgence.
