As a locally owned business, we collaborate with small businesses in the restaurant, beverage, and marine sectors while attracting wine enthusiasts throughout Maine and the nation. In 2024, our acclaimed Wine Sails welcomed guests from 45 states and multiple countries and were featured in Yankee Magazine’s “Best of New England, Summer Guide.” Our offerings include Wine Sails, Wine & Food Walks, a Sommelier-Curated Wine Club and Retail Wine Delivery, Small-Group Wine Region Trips, Private Events, Consulting, and more.

POSITION SUMMARY

Wine Wise is looking for a highly organized, proactive, and creative Marketing Assistant to support key marketing, customer engagement, and business development initiatives. This role will assist with marketing campaigns, content creation, social media, lead follow-up, customer service, and relationship-building with key accounts, referral sources, and partners. Additionally, the Marketing Assistant will track engagement metrics, explore new marketing channels, and collaborate on strategic initiatives to grow Wine Wise’s reach. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Engagement & Sales Support:

  • Assist in managing Key Account relationships (hotels, referral partners, corporate clients).

  • Follow up on leads and inquiries for Wine Sails, private events, and wine club memberships.

  • Provide customer service support related to marketing, event interest, and promotional campaigns.

Marketing & Promotion:

  • Manage and execute marketing efforts across Facebook, LinkedIn, and referral sites.

  • Research and implement new marketing channels to expand Wine Wise’s audience.

  • Assist in creating blog posts, email articles, and other marketing content.

  • Monitor engagement and track performance metrics for marketing campaigns.

Collaboration & Growth:

  • Work as part of a team to create initiatives and execute plans.

  • Meet with partners in person (local) and over the phone or email to detail customized solutions.

  • Identify, communicate, and troubleshoot constraints.

REQUIRED SKILLS & CHARACTERISTICS

  • Be excellent at follow-through and follow-up

  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, social media, email marketing tools)

  • Detail-oriented and extremely organized

  • Creative thinker who enjoys generating ideas and new approaches

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred but not required. Industry experience or familiarity is a strong plus. We are open to an entry-level candidate.

  • Experience: 0-2 years.

  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

  • This is a permanent position with room for long-term growth. We seek someone interested in a long-term role.
